FROM: Dovid (DUH-vid)
SUBJECT: Sulfur Oxidizing Copper

Hi Pix and Joel,

In Episode 365 Travisplo sent an email with ideas for oxidizing copper faster, noting how sulfur is used for this process in real life. Now that sulfur is being added to the game, do you think this should be implemented as a feature? If so, how do you think it would best be integrated into the gameplay?

Dovid dropped dead on the spot when he realized that he could have simply clicked on his copper with some sulfur rather than waiting for hours for it to oxidize.

SUBJECT: Minecraft Needs Better Shoulder Pads

Hi Pix and Joel,

Long-time Survival Guide watcher, recent Spawn Chunks listener here.

Your recent conversation in Ep. 399 about chameleons acting like canaries to warn players about nearby mobs got me thinking about parrots already filling a similar role when they sit on a player’s shoulders and alert them to danger.

That made me wonder: why don’t we have more utility mobs that can ride on a player’s shoulders as companions?

If you could add a couple of shoulder-carry mobs to Minecraft, which ones would you choose, and what unique utility would they bring?

Thanks for the great show and congrats on 400 episodes!

FainterBeast was slain by a spider while their shoulder mob provided emotional support only.

FROM: RiuPhane
SUBJECT: Other Games?

Hey guys,

Long time listener, first time emailer. You mentioned in Episode 400 (Which was a ton of fun!) playing other sandbox games that are well established, and it got me thinking.

Minecraft is often compared to Terraria, Portal Knights, and more recently Enshrouded and Hytale to name a few. Each of these have their own unique mechanics and approach to the genre that sets them apart. Before Minecraft, I was very into Terraria and Starbound (if you’re familiar). Other than the obvious third dimension in the case of Terraria and Starbound, what are some of the key differences for you guys between these games that make them stand out in a positive way that could influence Minecraft in the future?

RiuPhane went through a portal to another dimension, but never came back…

Thanks to our top patrons!
