  • The Citadel | Mushroom Island
    • Filled out, and built most of the remaining two command center wing interiors. West, and south.
    • Essentially each wing outside of the main storage wing is a small villager trading hall primarily for blocks in high demand in the sci-fi designs.
      • Each of the 3 wings has 6 toolsmith villagers down the right hand side.
        • Go down the line and trade iron for emeralds. There is an iron farm in the server spawn area that is always loaded for an endless supply of iron.
      • The left side of each wing has a selection of villagers. Trade the emeralds for the block of choice.
        • East wing: Masons for quartz.
        • West wing: Librarians for glass. (WIP)
        • South wing: 2 Farmers for golden carrots. 2 Clerics for redstone, and lapis, and 2 more villagers TBD.
    • Moving villagers around continues to be a bit of a pain. Overall it went well.
      • Villager trading, and the tedious process of trading with librarians to try to get six with glass trades is going to take forever.
        • Dislike RNG stuff like that in Minecraft.

SUBJECT: Dyeable Villagers

Hi Jonny, and Joel

I am a completionist listener, and I’m currently on Episode 316 of the Spawn Chunks. So, forgive me if this topic has been discussed on more recent podcast episodes.

My villagers are free range. I don’t like the feeling that trapping villagers in a 1×1 space gives me. Instead I built a fence around the village, and spawn proofed it. The downside is that it’s very hard to tell my villagers apart from each other. They are named of course but their names don’t appear until the player gets close, and mouses over a specific villager.

My idea is to be able to dye villagers different colors. This could mean changing the hat or shirt color for all villager professions. That way it would be easier to tell a mending, and an unbreaking librarian apart, for example. Or perhaps, being able to give villagers dyed leather armor to wear. This could also give some more functionality to the shepherd, and leatherworker professions.

Let me know what you think.

CannibalGirlScout LIVED to hear her email read on the podcast approximately a year and a half in the future.

The Chaos Cubed Release

While the update is fresh, Jonny and Joel discuss their first impressions, and the Minecraft community response to the update. Jonny has already been mining for sulfur, and collecting some sulfur cubes. Joel is getting ready to update The Citadel server, and take advantage of some online tools to aid in the search for new Chaos Cubed content.
