FROM: G A Corley
SUBJECT: Redstone Interacting With Mobs

Hi Pix and Joel,

The most interesting thing I noted in the Chaos Cubed update is that we now have the first mob (entity) that directly receives power from redstone, the TNT sulphur cube.

Previously, mobs could activate pressure plates, and minecarts could interact through the medium of special rails, but the TNT sulfur cube just activates after touching a redstone signal.

What other interactions could you see happening between mobs and redstone in the future? Could we have a golem that comes to life with redstone? Or something that carries out a specific command like mining the block in front of you, or teleporting to a home block? I see a lot of different directions Mojang could go with this.

G A Corley was blown up by a TNT sulphur cube that passed over a redstone block.

SUBJECT: Tricky Chameleons

Firstly, happy 400!  I haven’t listened to the episode yet, but congratulations were a must.

On Episode 399, you talked about different reptiles potentially being added into the game.  Once you mentioned chameleons, I fell in love with the idea.

I immediately thought about how they could function within the game, and I wonder if there’s a world where they have their own scutes – or scales like the armadillo – that fall off naturally. From there, I could imagine the scales could be crafted into armor, or perhaps the scale could be an armor trim. This would allow the player to create some sort of invisibility armor, but I think of it more like how an invisible cave spider still shows its eyes. Maybe all you see is an enchanted shimmer.

Let me know your thoughts, and if you think this has an in-game application!

Lily survived by blending into her surroundings, but maybe if you squint you can see… Nope, still nothing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
