- Completed a villager trading on the second floor, north wing of the command center.
- Decided on quartz as one of the main blocks inside the command center, so naturally the villagers are masons, and toolsmith to facilitate iron trading for emeralds with the toolsmiths, and subsequently emeralds for quartz blocks with the masons.

- Central power core of the command center is starting to take shape.
- Digging the chasm that will house the power core will take longer than expected, as it has to be deeper than originally planned.
- Worked on some proof of concept ideas for the pulsing lighting effect. Copper bulbs provide the right kind of animation when paired with observer sequences, but they don’t math the existing palette very well.

- Finally stepped out of the bean mine to go find a nautilus!
- The regular nautilus was found fairly easily. The zombie nautilus proved to be a lot more trouble.
- Travelled thousands of blocks to a coral reef to spawn in a coral zombie nautilus. The plan is to air-lift the coral zombie nautlius via happy ghast, and a boat, in a caravan lead by an allay to it’s new home.
- The zombie nautilus does not suffocate out of water – it’s already undead – but it does burn in sunlight without armour.

SUBJECT: Babies Forever
Hi Jonny and Joel,
Since before the announcement of this new baby mob drop I have seen a lot of people asking for ways to keep mobs from turning into their less cute adult forms.
Side stepping the ethics of keeping them babies forever, I believe that this niche request will turn into a common one now the baby mobs are getting more attention.
I think the best way, and most storybook way of doing this is to have a “potion of youth” drop from a witch, or brewable from the plethora of non-awkward potion branches available.
Hope you’ve both had a nice Christmas, and New year!
Cyan was turned into a baby by a witch using splash potion of youth.

SUBJECT: Baby Mob Overhaul
Hello Joel and Jonny,
We’ve just gotten a peek at some of the cutest additions to the first Game Drop of 2026. Some domesticated animals are getting reworked, and I hope Mojang gives the same treatment to all baby animals, and mobs, even the hostile ones. This could set up new mob variants, and features unique to those babies. Maybe baby skeletons with slingshots, or perhaps fast moving baby creepers too weak to destroy terrain but still deal explosive damage bringing new challenges to PVE combat.
What do you guys think? I would love to hear some of your ideas for fun baby mob additions, and how they’d differ from their adult counterparts.
Thank you both for keeping the community active, your creativity, and imagination has inspired so many of us. It’s given us all the motivation we need to thrive in our infinite sandboxes.

Baby Mobs And Snapshot Lobs
Joel, and Jonny share their first impressions of the new baby animals for cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and bunnies, and speculate on what these cute (or deadly) new features may hint at for additional content for Minecraft 26.1.
