- The Citadel | Westhill
- Finished up the foliage, and landscaping details along the east banks of the Spruce River in the Westhill Valley.
- Custom trees, and the new bush block played a big role in keeping things looking overgrown.
- Added tall dry grass to the edge of a wheat field that bordered the river to give some variation to the crops.
- Tall dry grass matches the custom wheat texture on The Citadel pretty well but it’s frustrating that the dry grass doesn’t go in the middle of the block, like a crop, so in some unlucky blocks it looks off. Tall dry grass also floats above farmland, so it had to be placed on coarse dirt, or rooted dirt to work in the context of the wheat field.

- Added details, and texture along the west road, and extended the road over the western hills, out of sight of Westhill.
- The idea is to have a curated experience when you approach Westhill from any of the existing roads. The west road is the last to need this level of work.

- The Minecraft Survival Guide, Season 3
- Updated the Survival Guide world to 1.21.6, and have now found, crafted, and even bartered for Dried Ghasts.
- There aren’t many ghast tears in storage, and not having a ghast farm there may need to be a focus on building one if happy ghasts prove to be overwhelmingly useful.
- So far, four happy ghasts have been hatched.
- Two over by the starter area, and the plan is to leave them parked (but free-flying) around the pirate ship.
- The Windy City inspiration illustration by Greg Fromenteau has a whale flying around the topsails, so it works!
- The next ghastlings will be hatched over at the Windy City location, but one may also be taken to The End purely to remind viewers it’s possible!

SUBJECT: Ghast Racing
Hi Joel, and Jonny!
I don’t know if this idea was already rejected or wasn’t pitched yet, but I’d really like a way to increase the speed of the happy ghast. Mainly because I’ve been looking at them as racecars. Not high speeds, but like how Pigs, and Striders get temporary speed with their fishing rods. Something like feeding a happy ghast glistening melons to get slightly ahead of your mate near the finishing line?
What do you think of giving happy ghast speed, and handling improvement items?
Love the podcast! Tuning into it every week now, keep up the great work!
SamwithaSceptile walked into the racing zone due to happy ghasts.
SUBJECT: Happy Ghast Skyblock Game Changer
Hello Pix, and Joel,
When listening to discussions about uses of the happy ghast, my mind immediately went to my favorite way to play Minecraft; Skyblock. I think the happy ghast could be both game breaking, or a nice helper, depending on the map, and how it’s implemented. For the traditional sky island based version of Skyblock, getting a happy ghast too soon would eliminate the grind of bridging to the islands, for better or for worse. On a one block map, it would be less game breaking, and a great tool for building.
Interested to hear your thoughts and experiences with Skyblock!
TofuRedPanda sailed across the void safely on the back of a happy ghast.
P.S. As someone in the software development, and release space, I really appreciate the insight the podcast brings to Mojang’s development, and release cycle, as I find it to be a fascinating release model.

Vibrant Visuals Impressions And Feedback
Jonny, and Joel each spent a few hours live on their respective Twitch streams playing Bedrock Edition to get a good feel for the new rendering, and game play experience with Vibrant Visuals. They share their first impressions, highlights, and where they think there is room for improvement going forward for the new dynamic way players can experience Minecraft.
