      • There is a new version of Tables & Chairs out in beta redesigned by misterk7_. So, time on The Citadel this week was spent walking around Westhill replacing old tables, and chairs, which is going faster than anticipated.
      • It has been a little tedious with the copy/pasting of a removal command for the old Tables & Chairs data pack, combined with some quirks on how the tables, and chairs are placed in the new version 2.

SUBJECT: End Update Ideas

Hi Pix and Joel,

The March 10th discussion of a potential End update gave me an idea for how it could work. Previously Iʼve agreed with Pixlriffs that most ideas for an End update change the feel of The End in a way I donʼt think fits the idea of the dimension, but now I think you could maybe lean into that.

What if The End starts out empty, with just the central End island, and no outlying islands, then every time you beat the dragon more of the outer End starts to exist? After one dragon kill, it would be identical to the current version, and you can add biomes, structures, etc. in empty areas as you beat the dragon more, and more, up to 20 times? That way, as you work to free the End, you can see more, and more of your efforts pay off.

DanielRH suffocated in a newly-appearing End Forest island when his servermate killed the dragon for the fourth time.

SUBJECT: Subtle Item Animations

Hello Jonny, and Joel,

Hope you’re both doing well! I had an idea when you were recently discussing where the Mojang team could perhaps improve on the new spawn egg designs, and would love to hear your thoughts.

To make some of the egg designs better, what if some subtle animations (like the ones on enchanted items, and the skulk sensor) were added to them? Such as wings flapping on the bee, bat, and allay eggs, the sniffer’s nose sniffing, or the magma cube’s body hopping.

To take it a step further, do you think any other items in the game could use some animating?

Thanks for making my day every Monday!

Trademark Toby didn’t die because he was in creative! He was, however, admiring how the frog egg hopped in his inventory.

SUBJECT: XP?

Hello! Big fan! I’ll get straight to it.

In Minecraft, why do most people who play call the green orbs, and green bar above the hot bar XP? Was it named that officially anywhere at any point? Simple gaming nomenclature?

I find it curious because I feel in game it acts a lot more like “mana” than experience. Experience points in games are generally used for “learning” how to do things such as unlocking fighting moves or tools, and structures you can build. etc. This has made me think more about how Minecraft uses magic. How it exists but only “kind of”. Should Mojang lean more into magic? Or should they implement some kind of “tech tree”?

My personal vote is the former, although I wouldn’t oppose the tech tree route.

Cinqo has made the advancement “Knowledge is power.” for using his experience from mating cows to make his arrows catch on fire.

Good morning Pixl, and Joel

As a forty-one year old man, I have now been playing Minecraft religiously for the last two years. It has changed my life, and has quickly become my main passion.

I found your podcast three weeks ago – I have just listened to Episode 77 with yourselves, and GeminiTay, and I thought I’d send an email to ask you some very important questions that I hope by chance will be broadcast so that when I reach that episode I can have my very own Marty McFly moment.

Joel, did you ever get those cracked stone slabs you so desperately wanted? Fingers crossed.

Pix, as I’m now watching your Minecraft Survival Guide series, what has been the most mentally taxing part of the game for you to master?

For you both, did you guys ever come up with an elegant solution regarding the roads, and inclines?

Much love from the UK, and thank you so much for a well presented, and educational podcast that comes across as fun, and passionate to us all in listener land.

Keep Chunkin’
