    • Finished up the details on the barn behind the old potato farm.
      • The roof didn’t match the farmhouse, and the plain acacia texture needed an update with a mix of jungle, and spruce stairs.
      • The barn interior wasn’t touched at all previously. Added hay bales, crates, and barrels, and a little tool maintenance area with an anvil, grindstone, and cauldron.

    • Hoping the next gameplay drop arrives soon, so some dry grass, and other new plants can be incorporated into the build.

SUBJECT: If a tree falls in the woods…

Hi Pix, and Joel!

With the recent snapshot implementing fallen trees in most 1×1 tree forests, it got me thinking of some missed potential. I love the fact that they are making the overworld more “realistic” as many forests include felled trees due to weather or age, and the fact that fungi grow on them really brings it home. However, with the past updates adding more varied terrain, and even giant crevices in the surface, wouldn’t it be neat if they coded in fallen trees to bridge gaps over trenches?

The adventurer in me has always felt the daring nature to traverse a large log over a 60 foot drop! With that said, I really feel they should add some sporadic 4×4 trees down as well. Even the giant redwood trees fall in real life, and I can guarantee they make quite the thud when they hit the ground. Add some ambient sounds of tree cracking and leaf particles as it falls.

Let me know your thoughts!

Cheers!

The March Of Minecraft Live

Now that Mojang is planning to showcase Minecraft Live events every six months or so it gives Joel, and Jonny more opportunities to speculate on what may be coming next for Minecraft. There is more information to work with – more features to rule out –  given that Minecraft is getting smaller drop updates more frequently, and a new pattern of how Mojang announces, and showcases new game features at Minecraft Live.
