The Spawn Chunks 338: A Spawn Egg-stravaganza!
Joel, and Jonny un-scramble the latest Minecraft snapshot, highlighting their favourite yolks, and poach a few of the new spawn egg designs that they think Mojang could take another crack at, then talk new wolf voices, and answer listener email about labeling all things tiny.

- Finished the retaining wall around the north perimeter of the farm, and added a bit of landscape detail to the grassy areas. The paths within the farm are also finished.
- Didn’t do a lot of texture work on the exterior road, as the neighbouring property, and riverbanks aren’t started yet.
- It’s usually better to do both builds on either side of a road, and then finalize the roads or paths between them.

SUBJECT: Waxing Cows
Hi Jonny and Joel,
During Episode 335 Joel was talking about the aesthetics of having baby cows, and that he wished there was a way to keep them as babies. Jonny referred to it as “waxing cows”.
I think Mojang could do this relatively easily. We have baby zombies that don’t grow into adults. We also have the mechanic where if we use a nametag on an NPC it doesn’t de-spawn. I think they could make it so that when you nametag an entity not only do they not de-spawn, but they stop aging, effectively stopping their 20 minute timer to adulthood. This would lead to a myriad of cute, funny, NPCs running around with only an aesthetic value, and no real in-game function. i.e. Baby villagers that don’t age, and can never trade, or baby highland cows that don’t drop meat or leather, etc. The only detractor I see is that there is no effective way to “wax off” once you “wax on” a non-adult entity.
Thanks to both of you for a very informative, and entertaining weekly Minecraft discussion.

SUBJECT: Possible Additions To Snowy Biomes
Dear Joel and Jonny,
With the latest snapshots continuing to add more, and more new ambiance features to Deserts, it makes me wonder if biomes such as the Snowy Plains or the Ice Spikes biome will be getting similar treatment later in the cycle. I think given how technically the last ambiance feature to be added to these biomes was Polar Bears back in 1.10. Structures, and music aside, these biomes feel in need of a little love, and attention.
I wanted to ask if you felt the same way about Snow Biomes and if so, what features would you like to see be added to them to enhance their ambiance? I’d personally love to see features like snowlogging grass, and flowers come over from Bedrock Edition, as well as getting snow layers to spawn under trees so that these biomes aren’t broken up as much by the minty green grass.
Sincerely,
SuperaJokera

Mojang Lays New Spawn Egg Designs
Joel, and Jonny grab a fancy little spoon, and scoop out the best bits of the new spawn egg designs in this week’s snapshot, highlighting good eggs-amples of design clarity, as well a dozen or so that are just plain fun, then take a crack at a few others that may need to be incubated a bit longer before they’re ready to hatch.
