    • Added more pale oak logs to the Westhill keep.
      • Ran up pillars of stripped pale oak logs between the windows on the west facing wall of the main hall. It really lightens up the space!
      • Took another stab at the inside design of the main hall entrance. It still has some stripped pale oak logs, but it’s more subtle, and blends better with the structure of the wall behind it.
    • Added a fireplace to the keep main hall.
      • Searching for another opportunity to bring stripped pale oak logs into the wall, turned into the addition of a fireplace, based on a suggestion from Twitch chat.
        • The mantle design is still a WIP.
      • The fireplace chimney works for a few things nicely.
        • It sticks out into the kitchen, and could be used for something interesting, or practical.
        • It travels through the kitchen quarters on the next level, allowing for another fireplace.
        • However, it was a bit tricky to get the chimney to look okay sticking out of the roof of the kitchen quarters, so close to the decorative roof of the main hall.
        • The chimney is a bit of a cheat, as it should go through the narrow passage above the mantle, blocking access to the little balconies, but it’s hollow.

SUBJECT: Long Term World Building Advice

Hey Pix and Joel,

I have had my Minecraft world since 2015, which started in Minecraft 1.8. I am planning on doing two large projects. Making a glass city, and restoring a lot of ancient cities. I’m not a builder by any means but I was wondering if you have any small tips, and tricks for those who aren’t the greatest at building structures, and if you have any YouTube channel suggestions that do step by step building tutorials?

RoosterMugs tripped over a glass block while running from an Ancient Glass City build.

SUBJECT: Mineshaft Update?

Hi Pix, and Joel,

I was looting a mineshaft in my new world, and realized that these structures would be a perfect pairing to update along with minecarts if/when that were to happen.

Mineshafts did not get an armor trim when most other structures did, regardless of outdated status, like jungle temples.

Could Mojang have intentionally held back on a specific trim for mineshafts knowing that a future update would be a better time to add one? I think suspicious gravel would fit well in a mineshaft update.

What do you think a good update to mineshafts would look like?

Mumler rode a minecart off the edge of a cliff, and into a lava pit escaping a swarm of cave spiders.

SUBJECT: More Minecraft Modes

Hey Pix, and Joel,

In a recent podcast, Skyblock was mentioned, and like Joel, I had also forgotten that it existed! Would it be beneficial to Minecraft to eventually add more world modes?

We currently have Hardcore, Survival, and Creative as some of the player modes, as well as Flatworld, Bigger Biomes, or Default, and many others in the “World Type” category. What if Mojang added Sky Block as a world type?

I can’t think of a list of other good world types to add, but I think it would add to Minecraft’s value if Skyblock was either a game mode in the menu, or if it was added as a world type. Mojang could do their own spin on the idea, or collaborate with the original creators of Skyblock.

I believe some mods have been incorporated and/or adopted into the game in the past.

Hope this creates a valuable discussion!

GundarHStriker didn’t get a sapling in Skyblock.

P.S. It’s lonely up here.
