    • More work prepping the abandoned farmstead, smoothing out the rough paths, and connecting the farm to the neighbouring farms in a way that makes sense.
    • Detailed more of the green space in front of the north curtain wall of Westhill.
      • Finding it easier to focus on smaller patches, near the road.
      • Added a stump – previously suggested by a viewer – and it work well. However it’s just a small section of the area.

FROM: Landedpuma
SUBJECT: Pale Garden Forest Fire

Hello Pix, and Joel,

I think a good build idea for the Pale Garden biome would be terraforming an area to look like it has been scarred by a forest fire. It may not look pretty to a lot of people, but I’m thinking of it in the same way that some people build volcanoes, and turn rifts into “earthquakes”. The gray sky, and colorless terrain would give the perfect atmosphere for the aftermath of a forest fire. I’m even imagining a slurry plane with red concrete spilling out, which would definitely grab your attention!

For me, what makes the story of a world complete isn’t always the buildings, but the world around it growing, and changing. Forest fires aren’t pretty, but they make the landscape interesting, and dynamic.

Landedpuma couldn’t tell the difference between a creaking and Smokey The Bear.

FROM: WingedWolf
SUBJECT: Pale Garden Day vs. Night

Hey Pix, and Joel,

I am very excited about the Pale Garden biome, but like you, I have noticed that it is a bit boring. What if it stayed that way, dull, during the day, but at night, things sort of came alive, and glowed orange? This could apply to the “tendrils” of pale moss carpets, and possibly the hanging moss.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for a great show.

WingedWolf died because she was transfixed with glowing moss, and didn’t see the creaking behind her.

Thank you to our Patrons!

What Will The Garden Awaken?

Now that The Garden Awakens update is at the ready, Joel, and Jonny discuss their initial plans for the new content in their respective worlds. Jonny is focused on exploring some of the more technical gameplay aspects as a learning opportunity for The Minecraft Survival Guide. Joel is thinking more about harvesting resources, and ways to incorporate the new blocks, and palette choices in long term builds like Westhill.
