    • Started stabbing at the smaller sections of the curtain wall green.
      • Added a couple large, flat rocks, and some moss. 
      • Used moss, and azalea, and acacia leaf blocks to make thistle-like textures.
    • Started the rough layout for the abandoned farmland along the river.
      • Currently planning out the tiers of the farm with basic walls that will be detailed, and textured to look crumbled, and not maintained.
      • Waiting for the Winter Drop, and pale oak wood before building the abandoned farmhouse.

  • Love Tropics 2024
    • Helped launch Love Tropics 2024 in support of Women’s Earth Alliance, with a focus on river cleanup and sustainable initiatives in Uganda.
    • The stream raised a final total of $26,609 USD. 
    • The event server was great fun, centered around the Tropicraft mod like usual, with minigames ranging from fun to educational.
  • The Minecraft Survival Guide, Season 3
    • Part of the Love Tropics segment involved some raffles, and donation incentives, so I now three people will get a custom billboard in the Windy City project, and one raffle winner will have the wind power company named after them, and many more will have their names added to hanging signs that will decorate the city.

Hello Spawn Chunks,

I am not an official geologist yet, (Still attending college.) but I wanted to weigh in to the discussion on geology with you both.

We measure our altitude by feet/meters from sea level, starting at zero, but in the Minecraft world sea level starts at Y63, which changes how we view how “high” or “deep” a geological feature is. From Everest to the Mariana Trench, if we were to be accurate to scale, our worlds would need to go from around  -10,000 in the oceans to almost 9,000 on the Y axis. Mining that far down sounds like a nightmare!

Minecraft worlds are incredibly shallow, even with the relatively new terrain generation in 1.18, and I always find that interesting to think about.

And as for new materials, Mojang could add a rock called Acasta Gneiss, and it might look like a blend of packed mud with a diorite texture, which could be interesting. It is thought to be one of the oldest rocks on the planet.

Landedpuma tried to mine the gneiss, but was ended-pearled back to his base after three in-game days.

SUBJECT: Drops In Time

Hi Pix, and Joel,

The community has had many great suggestions for the upcoming Winter Drop, like pale, white pumpkins in the Pale Garden. I think this is a great idea, however Mojang may be struggling in its placement now that the biome has developed.

Instead of it being generated naturally, what if we had it pale pumpkins as Minecraft’s first seasonal exclusive item? Pale pumpkins could only be obtainable during December when creakings might spawn with them on their head, and drop when defeated.

Players love exclusives from the success of limited capes, so this would be a great way to promote the release of future drops. It would be a tangible way to brag about the age of your world, and encourage people to stay in their worlds for longer. If you miss out, then don’t worry, there will always be next year when they appear again in survival, though they will stay available in the creative inventory.
