- The Citadel | Iron Farm Storage Door
- Popped back on The Citadel on Saturday to wrap up the final details around the iron farm, and moss farm storage areas.
- Used the acacia log, and copper block pipe design to make the door to the iron storage more unique.
- Used mossy cobble, and tuff to blend the moss farm into the hillside.
- Made the path down to the farm a bit more thoughtful, and designed.
- Interesting challenge going back to an area where it’s been 5-7 years since building there, and trying to use the old techniques and palettes, and not go overboard.

SUBJECT: Simulation Question
Hello Pix and Joel,
I had a question I have not been able to find an answer to online. I understand how simulation distance generally works. Get too far away from my iron farm, and it stops working, or my crops stop growing. My question is how the game calculates vertical distance. If say, I am set simulation distance to 4, am I able to build stuff from bedrock to build height, and have them still work? What about things like geodes? If my base is above one but separated by hundreds of blocks, will the crystals still update? Or is the simulation distance calculated in more like a sphere around the player like mob spawning?
Thanks for all the help over the years. Loving the new video format!

SUBJECT: Mining In Deepslate vs. Stone
Hi Pix, and Joel
I have been digging a giant mine in my Minecraft world, and I noticed that the deepslate layers of the world have less block types than the stone layers do. Deepslate, tuff, and gravel vs. stone, andesite, diorite, dirt, granite, and gravel. Considering that the deepslate layer is bigger than the stone layer, do you think that there should be more block types in it?
Thanks for the great podcast!

SUBJECT: Concept Art To Minecraft World
Hello Pix, and Joel!
I have started listening to your podcast, and consequently, have gotten back into the wonderful world of minecrafting. I want to be an artist, and work in concept art, and design for video games, and television. Once I complete a conceptual piece, I try to import the 2D digital art into a 3D Minecraft space.
Have you done this, with either your art or others? And if so, how have you executed this task?
Very excited for the pale forest update, and I love the show so much!
Have an amazing day!

SUBJECT: Wind Chimes
Hi Jonny, and Joel,
I randomly thought about being able to use breeze rods, and iron nuggets to craft wind chimes. Wind chimes would make sound like real wind chimes, but they could also add wind sound effects to add immersion to a build like a windy city, or a build at a high elevation. I think they could add some more functionality to Breeze Rods.
I’ve been enjoying the podcast a lot lately, keep up the awesome work!
Thanks!
Nicholas was blown up by Creeper while listening to his wind chimes.
