    • Went to the End for some Elytra. Better End makes some pretty cool additions to the dimension, but not sure if they fit in Vanilla.
    • Worked on the facade of the Necromansion. Which is a name conjured up with while writing the show notes, and now it can’t be called anything else! Used blocks, and materials from various mods to keep with the theme:
      • Brimwood from Regions Unexplored
      • Dark Iron bars from The Graveyard.
      • Corner Trim and Pillar Trim blocks from Handcrafted.
      • Putrid Trapdoors from Mine Cells

SUBJECT: The Bundle – My New Best Buddy (Almost)

Hi Pix, and Joel!

In Episode 311, Jonny asked for Bedrock Players’ experiences with Bundles – because we didn’t get the first version at all, so here is my two cents.

Playing Bedrock on PC, it feels very natural to interact with the bundle, and it works very much like in Java Minecraft. Putting stuff into containers and grids directly from the bundle without closing any of the UIs is something we’ve never had in the vanilla game, so that’s a plus!

On my mobile device (You can’t Play Preview/Beta on the Nintendo Switch.) I also tested the touch UI which I guess will be closer to the console experience. You click on the bundle, and it stays open, (The Icon, and the UI.) and you can get things in and out that way. It looks well designed, and I can imagine playing like that.

Overall, my playstyle would benefit from bundles. Looting multiple buried treasures is way more satisfying without placing a shulker down, and then losing it to the waves because your inventory is full. Ha! 😉

Thanks for making the Spawn Chunks come alive!

Sheepscalibur withered away while holding a memorial for all the rabbits he needlessly killed because Mojang changed the bundle recipe.

SUBJECT: What Kind Of Story Is Minecraft Best Suited For?

Hello Spawn Chunks!

With a Minecraft series on the way, and the Minecraft movie finally on the horizon, it recently got me thinking about the different kinds of stories that are best suited for Minecraft.

For me, the Minecraft stories that I like the most are interested in using Minecraft as a setting to its fullest, self-contained in it’s world, and interested in engaging, and interpreting Minecraft mechanics in fun new ways, with a plot that explores Minecraft’s dimensions that can not usually be experienced by just playing the base game.

My favourite example is the Minecraft novel “The End”, where it puts endermen as the protagonists, and depicts an interpretation about how endermen society might work.

I would love to hear your thoughts on what kind of stories, and plots you think are best suited for such a fantastical setting like Minecraft.

36houstoingi set sail in search of legends and tales.

A Talk About A Minecraft Movie Teaser

Joel, and Jonny discuss their first impressions of the teaser trailer for A Minecraft Movie, focusing on the visual style, and cast, with some speculation as to what the story may be. There has been a mixed response across the Minecraft community. The conversation digs into player expectations, vs. the producer’s vision, and the challenges of interpreting a sandbox game like Minecraft, that can mean something different to just about anyone who plays it, good or ba-AHH-AHHD!
