The Spawn Chunks 307: Tadpole Milk And The Trial Chamber Of Time
Joel welcomes Tadpole Milk back to the podcast to chat about his first experience in a Trial Chamber, the finer grains of a renewable sand idea, and how we think about the slow, steady march of time in long term Minecraft worlds.

- Later in the week, time was spent working on a small cottage build along the north road. The block palette took forever to select, and it still may not be right. Still very much a work in progress.

FROM: The MCengineer
SUBJECT: Renewable Sand (again)
Hey Joel, and Tadpole,
I have an idea for how Mojang can implement renewable sand while adding function to an existing block. What if you could place glass items in a grindstone and “grind” the glass down to dust which can then be combined in a 3×3 grind to produce one block of sand. The yield could be low, for example a block of glass could yield 5 dust, a glass pane 2 dust, and maybe a bottle only yields one dust.
This idea stems from my want for renewable sand but also a use for the large amounts of glass bottles that my newly buffed witch farms produce. This dust could also be dropped from breaking glass with a non silk touch pick. I know renewable sand will be a smash hit in the community no matter how it’s implemented but I do believe it needs to be in a “Minecrafty” way. I would love to hear your thoughts on this idea and if there is anything you would change.
The MCengineer was killed by a group of angry desert villagers after he stole all the sand in their desert.

Time In Minecraft
Tadpole, and Joel each have long standing projects. While forever worlds, and large, long term projects are starting to be a bit more common, it’s not the norm for most Minecraft players. Joel, and Tadpole talk about their long game approach to Minecraft, their respective long term worlds, and how these projects affect how they think about the game, and their content.
