      • The Westhill River snakes through Westhill. Once it gets outside the walls, Westhill borders on the north, but the south banks were just default Minecraft terrain from 1.16 or earlier.
      • Went through the process of smoothing out existing terrain, adding cliffs where it made sense, filling in flat areas with extra greenery, and tweaking the odd tree to have a bit more character.

SUBJECT: Are Villager Trades Rebalanced?

Hey Pix and Joel,

I was recently watching Pix’s recent Survival Guide episode on Villager Trading Halls, and that had me thinking: Are Villager Trading Halls worth building? I recently built IanXoFour’s stacking raid farm, and immediately had more emeralds and redstone than I would ever need.

First, I think that it doesn’t make a lot of sense to build up farmers, fletchers, and other villagers that you mainly sell resources to. These villagers are made obsolete by farms that produce more emeralds than any crop farms you could run. Secondly, it isn’t worth buying redstone from Clerics, because you can get so much from a raid farm.

Mojang has also made zombification less useful, along with experimental trading changes potentially on the way, completely nerfing enchanted books and armor/tool trades. Other things like quartz are renewable from other farms, making many other villagers relatively useless or at least not as efficient as building a farm.

What do you think about farms like this and Mojang’s rebalance making villagers less useful?

NLE Ray died while running his stacking raid farm because he forgot to build a regeneration beacon.

Quality Of Life For Builders

Whenever a new Minecraft update arrives, excitement from builders in the community is usually focused around any new blocks being added to the game. New quality of life features for Minecraft for builders to look forward to are added far les often. One recent example would be scaffolding, added in Minecraft 1.14. Jonny, and Joel discuss some ideas on how the building experience in Minecraft could be improved.
