  • The Citadel – Westhill Valley
    • Finished up the riverbanks along the east river near Westhill. Really like how that area feels now approaching Westhill from the east road.
    • Moved north along the east farm road adding texture, and tightening up the edges of the road.
      • A really simple technique of mixing in some moss, moss carpet, a bit of grass, and leaf block placement.
      • Adding small points of interest along the way like a little retaining wall at the bend in the road.

    • More riverbank work along the wheat mill farm where it borders the Westhill river.

  • The Minecraft Survival Guide, Season 3
    • Finally began the floating island project in earnest.
      • Lots of planning going into this one – a creative build was necessary to figure out the structure of the ship without a maddening amount of trial, and error.
      • Build Theory: Inspiration & Research (YouTube.com/Pixlriffs)
  • Learning Architecture Terminology
    • Opened another creative build world where with the goal of trying to learn more architectural terminology.
      • Inspired by a new book, How To Read Buildings by Carol Davidson Cragoe (Amazon.co.uk)
      • Started with a greek temple build, learning about columns.
      • Aiming to split the world into various architectural eras branching in the four different cardinal directions.
        • Though, a lot of this will be focused on Western European architecture, with an aim to look outside of Europe eventually.

FROM: Evil Shadoww
SUBJECT: Horses, Donkeys, And Mules

Hello Jonny, and Joel!

Hope you guys are doing well!

As we know, Horses, Donkeys and Mules are bred using the “gold” food, golden carrots, golden apple, and surprisingly enchanted golden apple too.

The golden apple costs nine times more gold to craft than a golden carrot – but they are equivalent in terms of animal breeding, there are no benefits for using an apple over a carrot, and breeding horses with enchanted golden apples is just a waste of resources.

So what if using the more expensive food type gave us some extra benefits than using the cheaper counterpart when used for breeding horses? Using an enchanted golden apple could give players benefits to the offspring’s stats that naturally generated horses could never achieve like speed, jump, health or something more than that.

This could give extra uses to the Notch apple for peaceful players as well.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Love the podcast!

EvilShadoww accidentally fed his donkey an enchanted golden apple, and rage quit.

FROM: TheBinghamTeam
SUBJECT: More Nether Biomes And Structures

Hi Joel, and Pix,

I have always thought, even after the 1.16 update, that The Nether didn’t have enough structures. Maybe Mojang could add crimson villages that spawn in ‘crimson clearings’, and potentially a ‘warped village’ variant as well? What about something like a ‘soul remnant’? It could be a soul sand version of trail ruins with different new loot tables.

I would love to hear your thoughts!

TheBinghamTeam was slain by a Hoglin while desperately trying to find a crimson village.

Thank you to our Patrons!

Looking Ahead To 2024 In Minecraft

Jonny, and Joel turn their eyes to the render distance horizon, reviewing what they know is coming to Minecraft in 2024, what they think may be coming to Minecraft either in the 1.20.5 minor update, or the yet unnamed 1.21 major update, as well as the broader scope of what they hope to see in the game, and what they plan to accomplish themselves with their personal Minecraft projects.
