Greetings Jonny and Joel!
While listening to Episode 263 I was struck with an idea for a possible future mob when you all were talking about the upcoming mob vote. Joel mentioned a possible ancient mob, and it made me consider; what if they introduced a new sculk-related, friendly mob into the game? I imagine you’d need to find its egg or something of the sort in a chest in an Ancient City, perhaps in the icebox so that it would have remained preserved.
Once it’s hatched, it would basically serve as a guard mob that could interact with sculk blocks. If you had a sculk powered alert system for your home, and a sensor went off, it would alert the mob, and the mob would go attack any hostile mobs that triggered the sensor.

Mojang has confirmed in the September Minecraft Monthly video that the mob vote candidates will be revealed in the first week of October, giving players time to decide on their favourite, and cast their vote ahead of Minecraft Live 2023. Joel, and Jonny share their thoughts on what they think players may see presented in the mob vote, and what they personally hope to see in potential new mobs.
