- The Citadel, Westhill
- A pretty chill week, working on the east river, south curtain wall, and landscaping the south approach to Westhill.
- The Citadel – South Curtain Wall – Part 2 (Twitch.tv/joelduggan)
- Added buttresses along the stone church section of the curtain wall, with bushes and overgrowth hiding a secret door down by the water.
- The Citadel – South Curtain Wall – Part 3 (Twitch.tv/joelduggan)
- It took a full stream to attempt to add a tower along the Westhill River that didn’t work out. Opted for more detailed texturing on the large portion of the wall instead.

- The south road approach – still a work in progress – has been re-worked with stone, and a few custom trees.
- First real attempt at a large custom oak tree. Spruce trees are so much easier!
- No idea what will be going in the large flat space south of the stone church.

- Empires, Season 2
- Structures are going into place at the Ancient Capital’s Grand Castle. An ironic name, considering it’s a ruin. So far the ‘sanctum’ building is roughly in place.
- Added a froglight tree to Scott Smajor’s base.

SUBJECT: More On Pitcher Plants
Hey Joel, and Jonny!
I was recently listening to the latest episode of the podcast, and loved your conversation on the pitcher plant. In discussing which creatures that they could eat, only one idea came to mind. PHANTOMS. Maybe having the carnivorous plants could finally make my nights serene again?
That being said, does this idea eliminate the need for phantoms at all?
Are there more “problems” in Minecraft that simply don’t need fixing to keep the game enjoyable?
I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
EyeChay stayed up for a month straight without the need to angrily sleep.

SUBJECT: More Ambience
Hello Johnny and Joel,
In recent episodes you’ve discussed adding ambience with soundscapes, usually sparked by listener emails, and the actions of the Hermits. Back in 1.17 when spore blossoms were introduced, you discussed those but I thought of something recently that I’m surprised hasn’t been discussed on the show before. What if you could dye the spore blossom to change the center circle of the spore blossom within the petals, and this also changed the particle colors? This would have no impact on the spore blossom item itself, but could add a nice level of ambience to for example an alien build; how cool would it be to have blue, and purple particles in an alien landscape? Maybe in a man-made mountain build you could simulate snow without snow layers actually accumulating on the builds with a white spore blossom? Or a pink one for cherry blossoms would be particularly nice for a Japanese-themed build, which I personally love to make.
Would love to hear your thoughts!
SpecterVamp went to sleep under a cherry tree and was suffocated by the blossoms.
Thank you to our Patrons!

Hands-on With Minecraft Legends
Jonny got a chance to play Minecraft Legends with a few other Minecraft creators at a recent creator event in London, England, and breaks down his experience with the game from the essential tutorial stages, early campaign missions, and being tossed into a 4v4, PvPvE match with other creators at the event. How does the game play? What basics do players need to understand going in? How does the campaign compare to multiplayer? Will Minecraft Legends have staying power for Minecraft players, and action strategy fans alike? Jonny, and Joel discuss the possibilities.
