SUBJECT: Redstone Ore Veins

Jonny & Joel,

In Episode 194 Pix was talking about how it would be interesting to consider giant redstone veins along the lines of iron and copper, and the thought struck me… You know how dripstone caves have more copper, and copper veins, and badlands have more gold? What if the Deep Dark had more redstone?

Imagine redstone ore veins being intertwined with sculk blocks. It might be annoying to switch tools while mining, but maybe redstone ore viens are one of the reasons that whoever built the Ancient Cities are some of the only inhabitants of the world that used redstone, and possibly even why sculk sensors emit redstone power.

Xacris angered the Warden because he followed the redstone vein.

SUBJECT: More Compacted Blocks

Hey Pixlriffs & Joel!

We all know inventory management is challenging (The worst) in Minecraft but one thing that does help is the ability to compact items by crafting them into new blocks, like raw ore into ore blocks, ingots into a full block, or dried kelp into a kelp block.

What new compacted blocks would you like to see make it into the game?

I’d love to see an ender pearl block. I know the round shape into square block would be weird, but this would help a lot and could have a cool block texture. Also I think crafting gunpowder into a gunpowder block would be helpful, and give a new gray texture, which is always useful.

Matt exploded by placing a gunpowder block.

Preparing For Things To Get Wild

Minecraft 1.19, The Wild Update, arrives tomorrow. What – if anything – are Joel and Jonny doing to prepare for new exploration in search of mangrove swamps, new adventures in the deep dark, and Ancient Cities, and of course, new encounters with The Warden.
