SUBJECT: Ice Dungeons And Powder Snow Generation

Hi Johnny and Joel!

I recently was exploring the new mountains in the latest Bedrock Edition beta and realized something about the way that powder snow generates. Mojang seems to want powder snow to be a threat, something that you can get trapped in and die. However, at least currently, the powder snow only generates in patches that are one block tall. This sort of eliminates the threat, and makes wearing leather boots basically pointless. I think that powder snow should generate at least two blocks deep, and maybe even generate above cave entrances.

What do you think of Mojang potentially adding a new structure, the ice dungeon, that would only generate in mountains. They would have a stray spawner, a loot chest, and multiple powder snow traps, including an entrance made out of a patch of powder snow.

SUBJECT: Copper Pipes And Music

Dear Pix and Joel,

You guys talked recently (Episode 129ish) about using copper in music in Minecraft and I thought of two things they could do with this idea. First as there is currently no brass instrument sound for noteblocks they could use copper blocks to add it in, as brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. I’d choose trombone, but as a trombone player I’m biased.

Second I really liked your idea of copper pipes extending the note to roughly a halfnote’s length, and thought that a good way to do this would be to put the copper pipe on top of a noteblock, so the note is forced through the pipe, this making it longer.

Anyways, just wanted to share my thoughts.

Love from a fellow Canadian.

SUBJECT: New Cave Lighting Idea

Hello The Spawn Chunks,

I have been listening to all of your podcasts for the past few weeks and I’ve been thinking…

What if Mojang added pets that can glow, lighting up in caves, so that you can see much easier? These animals could be tamable with some kind of food or item. I got this idea from Ark: Survival Evolved, where on one of the maps you can tame glow pets to give yourself a light or light up an area. In Minecraft maybe you could have them on your shoulder like a parrot.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jay

SUBJECT: Spoilers?

Hello there!

I’ve been listening to this podcast on and off for a while and I really enjoy it. Minecraft is such a fun game and it’s nice to hear passionate players talk about it.

As we move towards the new update, I know I will want to experience it fresh for the first time I play, but to me that means I should stop listening to y’all since you’ll cover all the new content!

Do you have any advice on how to stay connected without “spoiling” the game?

Thanks for doing what you do, stay chunky.
